Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) dashing opening batter Travis Head has finally opened up on his recent feud with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) talismanic opening batter Virat Kohli during the IPL 2026 season.
For the unversed, during the match between SRH and RCB at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Kohli refused to shake hands with the left-handed batter after the end of the game.
While speaking on Code Sports, Head didn’t reveal the whole incident of what actually happened between him and Kohli during the match; he asserted that incidents like those are part and parcel of the game.
“I don’t think there’s anything to patch over. That’s just that’s what it is. That’s yeah. No surprises with how the competition went or what went on. So as expected,” Head told Code Sports.
Delving into the details of the game, SRH posted a whopping total of 256 runs. During the chase, Head had exchanged a few words with Kohli while the RCB batter asked Head to roll his arm.
Unfortunately, Kohli got out on 15 runs, and Head mocked him by saying the batter was dismissed before he even had a chance to bowl, which didn’t sit well with the talismanic Indian batter.
After this incident, Travis Head’s wife Jessica Davies faced severe backlash and abuse on social media. Head also disclosed that the abuse had an impact on his family, who were not used to receiving such backlash.
“I think Jessica and I have a great perspective on things. That’s the world we live in, and I think she’s amazing in how she handles that kind of stuff. It was more the family stuff was built around it, flowing on to other family members who don’t particularly see that sort of stuff,” said Head.
“Everyone forgets about it in a few days’ time. She handled it extremely well. It’s probably handling it with others and what other people’s perspective of what things are like,” he concluded.
