Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are batting like wounded tigers: Sadagoppan Ramesh

Former Indian opening batter Sadagoppan Ramesh has asserted that the Indian talismanic batting duo Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are batting like wounded tigers. Notably, his comments came right after India’s eight-wicket win over the West Indies in Trivandrum on Sunday, September 27.

While Rohit scored only 32 off 35 balls, Kohli accumulated an unbeaten 139 off 88 balls with 10 fours and nine sixes to propel India to a comfortable win. Speaking on his Instagram handle, Ramesh reckoned that Kohli will definitely demolish the opponents in the remaining two ODIs.

“Kohli has two more innings against the West Indies, and he’ll definitely demolish them before they leave. Both Kohli and Rohit are batting like wounded tigers. I expect at least one century from Rohit or Virat in the final two ODIs,” Ramesh said.

Further, the former Indian opener backed the Indian talismanic opening batter Rohit Sharma to come out stronger in the remaining two ODIs and hit a century. The second ODI will be played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday, September 30.

“Just look at India’s last two ODIs. Rohit scores a century in one and Virat in the other. It clearly tells you that these two should be left alone. Also, if one catches fire, it spreads to the other. So, in the remaining two matches of this series, Rohit will also definitely score a century. When one scores a century between these two, the other tries to score one within the next series. This shows that they are clearly feeding off each other and going from strength to strength. They are on fire together,” he added.

The veteran batting duo remains crucial in India’s long-term roadmap for the ICC ODI World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
