The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Men’s Selection Committee, on Wednesday, September 16, unveiled India’s ODI and T20I squads for the forthcoming home series against the West Indies, commencing on Sunday, September 27 in Trivandrum.
India have also made changes to their T20I squad for the upcoming Asian Games and the one-off fixture against Japan. Mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy is all set to miss the Asian Games and Japan game due to a side strain.
On the other hand, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was originally named in the T20I squad, has been released and will instead feature in the ODI series against the West Indies. Meanwhile, Vipraj Nigam has been named as Reddy’s replacement.
In the ODI squad for the West Indies series, pacer Auqib Nabi has received his maiden ODI call-up while Naman Dhir also bagged his maiden national call-up. Also, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja returned to the ODI set-up.
In the T20I squad for the West Indies series, seamer Mayank Yadav has been recalled after missing the T20I series against Afghanistan. Also, Kuldeep Yadav and Prince Yadav have been included, bolstering the bowling attack.
