“All he does is play cricket for 40 days a year” - Ex-Indian selector opens up on T Natarajan’s move to SRH

Former Indian chairman of selectors and commentator Kris Srikkanth has asserted that Tamil Nadu pacer T Natarajan’s move from the Delhi Capitals to Sunrisers Hyderabad is a great one for the seamer.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth reckoned that Natarajan’s graph is slowly coming down over the last two years, adding that he manages to play only for 40 days a year without playing in the Ranji Trophy.

“It is great for Natarajan because all he does is play cricket for 40 days a year. He does not play in the Ranji Trophy, yet they pay him well in the IPL. Natarajan’s graph is slowly coming down over the last two years,” Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel.

“I am not sure why SRH took him back with Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain already there,” he added.

Srikkanth questioned Delhi Capitals’ decision to trade for Ansari, citing the short boundaries at their home ground in Delhi as a potential concern. The leg-spinner, meanwhile, did not play a single match for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026.

“Because of this move, SRH will probably let go of Unadkat and Harshal Patel. They will take two other youngsters and look into the future. But Zeeshan Ansari going to DC isn’t a good idea,” Srikkanth said.

“It is a small ground there, so he will get smashed there. Of course, Natarajan will also get smashed on the flat Hyderabad track unless he brings in those deadly yorkers,” Srikkanth concluded.
