On Tuesday, October 6, the Women’s Selection Committee picked India’s squad for the forthcoming T20I and ODI series against Zimbabwe, which will commence on Friday, October 16. While the T20I series will be hosted in Raipur, the ODI series will be played in Vadodara.
Harmanpreet Kaur, who stepped down as captain across formats with immediate effect, remains part of both squads. Shafali Verma has been elevated as vice-captain in T20Is, while Deepti Sharma will act as Mandhana’s deputy in ODIs.
Speaking about the T20I squad, Niki Prasad and Anushka Sharma have been included after their recent T20 performances. Further, Prema Rawat, Jintimani Kalita and Minnu Mani have also been included, while Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh Thakur, Radha Yadav and Bharti Fulmali have been left out. Jemimah Rodrigues continues her hamstring injury recovery.
Delving into the details of the ODI squad, Uma Chetry, Kashvee Gautam, Sneh Rana and Amanjot Kaur have been left out. Renuka Singh, Tejal Hasabnis, Yastika Bhatia, Nandni Sharma and Sayali Satghare have been included.
