On Wednesday, July 22, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the latest ODI Batting Rankings. Indian talismanic batters Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have made notable gains.
On the other hand, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell continues to top the ODI Batting rankings with 802 rating points, while Gill is at the second rank with 801 rating points after his 188 runs in the three-match ODI series against England.
Kohli continues to stay at the third rank with 767 rating points, while former captain Rohit Sharma is holding the fourth spot with 758 rating points.
“The noise since I made my debut was there. And till the time I’m going to stay here, it’s always going to be there. So it doesn’t really matter too much,” Rohit told BCCI.tv following the series decider.
“What matters is what I do on the field, try to contribute to the success of the team… If there’s no noise, there’s no fun. My job is inside; their job is outside,” he added.
England No.3 batter Joe Root was the top-scorer in the three-match series, moving four places up to eighth after picking up 249 runs without being dismissed. His colleagues Ben Duckett (up 11 spots to equal 19th) and Jacob Bethell (up five to 64th) also moved up.
